Q: Assalamalaikum Imam,
I was wondering what the ruling was a women after she done with menses, and cleanses herself. If this happens during the late afternoon so she missed fajr, and duhr does she have to make those two prayers up?

Kindly resend your question. i do not understand: if her menses stopped late afternoon, then how is it possible for her to miss her fajr. Do you mean magrib, asr? since late afternoon seems a little ambigious, and your details hazy, kindly resend.

As-salaam-alaikum. I was always told that I should wait one whole day without menses or any spotting before resuming prayers and doing ‘ghusl’ (special washing for after menses). Imam can advise if this is correct and best.

*As a general rule: what you were told was part of misinformation.
*Also, how is waiting for a day defined by you? if she stops at fajr, does she wait for the next day fajr? if she stopped at magrib, does she wait til fajr or the magrib of the next day? if she stopped at zhor, would magrib be her new day or fajr of the next day or would it be zohr of the next day?
*It all has to do with her ‘habit.’ We have a menses chart, kindly take a peek at it, makes it lots more easier than this ‘waiting one day rule.’
