There are multiple opinions as it relates to the shaving/trimming of the mustache as well as using of the razor. When two opinions exist, one must try and utilize that method that would allow for both opinions to coexist while eliminating any possible conflict between the opinions.

Based on the hadith that states: ‘trim the mustache and let the beard grow’ and focusing on the word ‘trim’ in accordance to the scholars (aslaaf), the following has generally been deduced: The best way to trim a mustache would be with a scissor rather than a shaver. The trim can be close to the skin, but the extremely clean shaven look does not need to exist, for that has been viewed as makrooh.

By virtue of example, the best trim would be such a trimming wherein the mustache looks as if the mustache is a day or two days old.

Regarding the beard, one must note, Muslims are to be neat, likewise, beards too must be neat and a living proof that following the sunnah is a neat thing to do. kindly go here for added information.

A: although there is not direct prohibition, we must teach our children the correct places to attend from a young age. Thus, although one can take a one year girl to the graveyard, it is best to take her to places where girls go, and take our little boys to the places that boys go.

You do not necessarily need to give fidya. Just do a makeup as soon as possible for all your missed fast.

Fidya would apply only if your health does not permit you to fast at all.

I have found a few fatwas concerning positions on this, but again they’re conflicting and I wasn’t sure what schools they were from. I worry because it doesn’t seem as if the Qu’ran mentions specifics on sea creatures, but in the old scriptures such as the Torah it is specific that everything without scales is forbidden.

So, sir If you’d please, tell me if these sea creatures are permitted, and also source(s) for these in either in the Qu’ran or hadiths.

A: It is best to stay away from prawns and shrimp, since doubt has been attributed to such foods. However, if the choice is between meat that you are unaware as it relates to its slaughtering and being halal, then in such a case scholars have given an allowance for shrimp.

Hanafees are divided on the matter of shrimp and prawns. When two opinions exist and starvation is not the concern, best to stay away from that which creates doubt.

Shawafees are allowed to eat shrimp without much hesitancy as compared to ahnaf.

i have a situation that i want marry soon as i have found a good partner alhumdulilah and i am 20 but the only thing is stopping me as i am the youngest one in family and i have 5 other siblings in front of me to get married first. I am very Scared telling my parents i have found someone as i know they will reject for no valid reason at all.

And they are planning to get me married to someone else who i have rejected  a couple of times due to being my First cousin from Both side of parents family.Since my parents are first cousin i have alot of genetic illnesses. and i was advise by my DR not to marry my first Cousins at all as it will effect my offspring in future.

None of my Siblings are married due to my parents keep rejecting and now my eldest sibling (age 32) doesn’t  want to marry now as he been waiting a long time to get married and he has given up and my second eldest sister(age 30) wants to marry of her own choice but they rejected because they care about what people say.
I know i am Young Girl but i rather be married then in future be in sins.

IS there any dua i can pray to fulfil my wish inshallah.

Also is a girl allowed to marry with out parents permission when parents give no valid reason as it is her islamic right to marry and wants to fulfil her islamic duty.

It apprars that your family has certain issues that need to be resolved. Some families just have a hard time letting go of their daughters. Yet others just wish to get rid of them from a tender age, thus some mothers start the match making from the time the child is young. Our Prother (SAW) made it clear that children are a test, in this given context, it means that we must strike a balance between letting our children go and keeping them when things seem unsafe.

Upon taking the appropriate blood tests and it can be made clear by health proffesionals that in your case getting married to a specific person would prove harmful, then only can a possible rejection occur, for in Islam we cannot place ourselves in harms way. It does appear that your doctor has acted in line with such thinking. One must also realize, the data shared by doctors is not infallible. This too should be noted as you make your decision.

I think your decision to not marry X and choose Y is not based on valid religious grounds. Kindly rethink your marital future.

I was born and raised Muslim. My parents may Allah (swt) bless them, taught me as much as they could about Islam.   I wear Hijab, I don’t date, I stay away from many other sins. However recently, I have been having trouble with my prayer.  I have not prayed in a while, and I am scared. I haven’t not been able to ask  anyone for help because I am afraid they will judge me. I try to prayer all the 5 prayer, but many times I fail. I am scared because I know that if died this moment, I would be punished greatly in the grave and in the afterlife. I am sincerely asking for HELP. I want to know what I could do to start praying again. Please don’t not judge me.  Right now as I am typing I  am crying because I don’t know what to do. I want to know what I could do to avoid shayatan controlling.

First off, I do not judge people.  If Allah (SWT) exposed my sins to you sister, you would not ever look in my direction or care to even know of my existence. We all sin, the best of sinners are those that seek repentance (derived from hadith). For this I admire you. We are all in the same boat as it pertains to self rectification. This should be goal of every human.

First off, Allah (SWT) loves you, that is why He allows you to wear the Hijab. A special feat in our current times. When Allah (SWT) loves a person, Allah (SWT) allows for them to adorn His sunnah.

According to the Quran, salah is not just an important pillar, it prevents a person from perpetrating greater evils. Therefore, should you become continually negligent in your salah, chances are that you would involve yourself gradually in greater sins. E.g.: looking at haram, talking things that are always useless, consuming haram, deceiving people/governments, etc.

Allah (SWT) does not seek to punish anyone. Allah (SWT) is the Creator and Allah (SWT) wants the best for all. That is why He has established rules and regulations. Follow them and all your problems would gradually dissipate. Rest assured my sister, today you are not praying, it must not happen that you continue on this track; as Allah (SWT) states, evil people are to be with evil people. Should you continue on this pathway, Allah (SWT) would attract you to people like yourself; the outcome of this could be very devastating.—socially, relationally, etc

A tear shed for Allah (SWT) can extinguish miles of fire. Your tears are a good sign. Now continue your life by doing a makeup for missed prayers, pray on time and take up the challenge to be your very best.

A: I am sorry to say, but this guy does not seem to be the brightest bulb on the tree. Ask yourself a simple question: is this the type of person i want to be with for the rest of my life? Does he qualify to be the father of my children? Is this the type of person that my children should be around? How can i be with a man that is getting another mans wife pregnant?!

If he has made a voluntary choice to be with a woman he has a child from, then in such a case, should you hold him back, it would be sad if he later places the burden on you for neglecting his child. You do not need to be emotionally blackmailed by anyone, more so a relational partner. Additionally, it must not occur that he stays with you and plays with her and attempts to water two gardens at the same time, as he has seemingly done so!

Make your decisions wisely as to your future.

Insh’Allah I want get married in a year or two, but I am confused  and don’t where to look for a husband. I am 17 and wondering if this age would be suitable for marriage Insh’Allah. I want to drop out of school and get married because I am not very interested in school and want to learn the Quran. Do you think marriage would be a good solution if i want to drop out of school?

I was introduced to a brother for the purpose of marriage.  We met in the presence of family and both sides were ready to move forward, Alhamduilllah.  However, now they are telling me that their Istikhara was not favourable.  Both his and his mother’s.  They haven’t refused nor have they agreed to move forward.  What should be done in such a situation?  Should we not proceed?  I am really confused at this point.

The boys side, by them saying that their ‘Istikhara was not favorable,’ in essence are saying that they are not interested at this time in pursuing the matter anymore.

Do not be confused; just make dua that Allah (SWT) opens your doors in a house that is more accepting of you.
