Q. Islam mentions jihad for Muslims. Will Muslims all be punished for not going to Jihad?
A. All major religions have within them the concept of ‘Jihad.’ Each may outline it differently, but Jihad does exist for all. Some religions have defined jihad in a limited manner, so as to include only war like and related behavior. Islam being the religion of peace and perfection defines Jihad in accordance to the natural worldview. The Muslim definition has never been limited to killing, rather it is inclusive of a person doing good deeds and taking on the challenge of abstaining from wrongful actions. Thus, Islam states: the best jihad is a struggle against the self. Doing good deeds at all times.
